The Movement Of A Hand

$130.00 Sold Out

This listing is for a Victorian mourning hands inspired talisman. Set delicately between her fingers is a full flashing teal labradorite that has been set in electroformed copper.

In the Victorian era, jewellery was worn not just for ornamentation, it was often worn because it meant something to both the wearer and/or the people who saw her wearing the piece. Hands were a popular symbol. They could be clasped in love or friendship, or clasping items with their own symbology. Specifically, pointing hands were charms of protection which was my intention in having the index fingers pointing down.

The Movement of a Hand measures 2” in height and 2.25” in width. She rests below an 16” nickel free copper chain that has been hand oxidized and polished.
